The Three Paybill Tariff Models
Business pays all charges means the customer's payment reaches the business in full, and the transaction fee is deducted from the business's M-PESA balance instead. Customer pays all charges means the fee is added on top of what the customer pays, and the business receives the full billed amount. Mgao (shared cost) splits the fee between both parties according to Safaricom's published split.
Transactions Up to KES 100 Are Free
Across all three tariff models, Paybill transactions of KES 1 to KES 100 are completely free for both the customer and the business — charges only begin once the amount exceeds KES 100.
