Results use 8.00% p.a. for the first 14 days and 9.50% p.a. after that, accrued daily on the full loan amount. The 5% savings share is your money, not a lender fee, but it still counts toward what you must repay. Calculate your Hustler Fund Personal, Bridge, or Group Loan's interest, savings contribution, net M-PESA disbursement, and total repayment — for any loan amount and start/end date.

The Hustler Fund is Kenya's government-backed financial inclusion facility, offering three credit products through *254# or the Hustler Fund mini-app: an individual Personal Loan, an upgraded Bridge Loan for repeat good-standing borrowers, and a Group Loan for registered Hustler Fund groups. Each product charges interest on the full amount you borrow and automatically routes a share of that amount into a savings account — money that's still yours, but that you must still repay in full alongside the interest. This calculator takes your loan type, amount, and a start and end date, and works out your net M-PESA disbursement, savings contribution, interest, and total repayment.

What Interest Rate Does the Hustler Fund Charge?

The Personal Loan and Bridge Loan both charge 8% per annum, accrued daily, for the standard term — 14 days for a Personal Loan, 30 days for a Bridge Loan — rising to 9.5% per annum on any balance left outstanding beyond that term. The Group Loan charges a flat 7% per annum over its 30-day term, plus a one-off 1.5% penalty on the principal if the group loan is repaid late.

How Do I Use the Hustler Fund Calculator?

Select your loan type — Personal, Bridge, or Group — to load the correct interest rate, term, and limits. Enter the loan amount, then set the start date (defaults to today) and end date (defaults to the standard term — 14 days out for a Personal Loan, 30 for Bridge or Group) to whatever repayment date you're planning for. The calculator shows the net amount disbursed to your M-PESA wallet, the portion routed to savings, the interest accrued — including the higher rate on any days past the standard term — and the total repayment you owe, which always includes the full principal, not just the disbursed portion.

Why Does My Hustler Fund Disbursement Show Less Than I Borrowed?

Only 95% of any Hustler Fund loan is sent to your M-PESA wallet — the remaining 5% is automatically routed into your Hustler Fund savings. On a Personal Loan, that savings portion splits further: 70% into your pension savings and 30% into short-term lock savings. This 5% is not a fee you lose — it's your own money — but you must still repay the full principal you borrowed, including that 5%, plus interest, by the end of the loan term.

What Is the Minimum and Maximum Hustler Fund Loan Amount?

A Hustler Fund Personal Loan starts at a minimum of KSh 500, up to a maximum of KSh 50,000. Your limit rises every 4 months based on how many times you've borrowed — by 40% after 2–5 loans, 60% after 5–10 loans, and 100% after more than 10 loans — as well as your accumulated savings. A Bridge Loan can reach up to 3x your current Personal Loan limit, while a Group Loan's aggregate limit can reach KSh 1,000,000, based on the combined limits of its members.

What Happens If I Don't Repay Within the Loan Term?

A Personal or Bridge Loan not settled within its term rolls over onto an increased interest rate of 9.5% per annum from the following day. A Group Loan carries a flat one-off penalty of 1.5% of the principal if it isn't repaid within 30 days. In every case, persistent non-repayment also risks a lower future Hustler Rating and borrowing limit.

Verify with the Hustler Fund: Rates, limits, and fund-split percentages are reviewed periodically. Confirm your exact terms on the Hustler Fund portal or in the Hustler Fund mini-app before relying on this for financial planning.

What is the Hustler Fund interest rate?

A Hustler Fund Personal Loan or Bridge Loan charges 8% per annum, accrued daily, for the standard term (14 days for a Personal Loan, 30 days for a Bridge Loan), rising to 9.5% per annum on any balance outstanding beyond that term. A Group Loan charges a flat 7% per annum over 30 days, plus a 1.5% one-off penalty if repaid late.

Why is my Hustler Fund disbursement less than the amount I borrowed?

Only 95% of any Hustler Fund loan lands in your M-PESA wallet — the other 5% is automatically routed into your Hustler Fund savings (split 70% pension / 30% lock savings on a Personal Loan). It's still your money, not a fee, but you must repay the full principal — including that 5% — plus interest, by the end of the loan term.

What is the minimum and maximum Hustler Fund loan amount?

A Personal Loan ranges from KSh 500 to KSh 50,000, with your limit rising every 4 months based on your borrowing history and savings — by 40% after 2–5 loans, 60% after 5–10 loans, and 100% after more than 10 loans. A Bridge Loan can reach up to 3x your current Personal Loan limit, while a Group Loan's aggregate limit can reach KSh 1,000,000.

How long do I have to repay a Hustler Fund loan?

A Personal Loan is due in 14 days and a Bridge or Group Loan in 30 days. A Personal or Bridge Loan not settled in time rolls onto an increased 9.5% per annum interest rate; a Group Loan instead carries a flat 1.5% penalty on the principal if repaid late.

Can I have more than one Hustler Fund loan at a time?

No — a Hustler Fund loan is attached to your unique national ID and mobile number, so you can only hold one active Personal or Bridge Loan at a time, regardless of how many SIM cards or networks you use.
